BCCI to honour 5 ICC trophy-winning groups at NAMAN awards 2026; Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli more likely to attend

Dominance. That is the word that you would associate with Indian cricket right now. Ever since the team broke the ICC trophy drought in 2024, there is no stopping the team. Indian cricket has rarely enjoyed a run like this. Over the last year, teams across different levels — from the senior men’s side to junior squads — have brought home ICC trophies. Now, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) plans to celebrate that golden period in style.
The BCCI will host its annual NAMAN Awards on March 15 in New Delhi, where players and support staff from five ICC title-winning Indian teams will be honoured. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the ceremony will bring together champions from across formats and age groups.
“The BCCI Awards ceremony will take place on March 15 in New Delhi. We plan to invite all the ICC tournament winners, including the recent T20 World Cup champions, along with their coaches,” Saikia told IANS.
The awards night is expected to be held at a five-star hotel close to the airport, keeping in mind that many players will soon leave to join their respective IPL franchises ahead of the new season.
Champions across generations set to be honoured
The ceremony will recognise India’s superb success across global tournaments in the past year. Apart from the men’s T20 World Cup 2026 winners, the 2025 Champions Trophy-winning squad will also be invited, along with the senior women’s team and India’s Under-19 boys’ and girls’ sides that lifted ICC trophies in 2025.
“We will also invite the 2025 Champions Trophy winning team members too. So, five ICC trophies won by various Indian teams during the course of last one year – all the members of those teams will be honoured on the awards night and it will be a great evening,” Saikia said.
The event could also see the presence of several big names. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who were part of India’s Champions Trophy triumph in 2025, are likely to attend the ceremony if their schedules allow. Rohit was recently seen during the T20 World Cup semifinal and final, where he attended matches in his role as the tournament’s brand ambassador.
Former India captain MS Dhoni was also spotted in the stands during the latter stages of the tournament and he even had a special message for Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir, who will most likely attend the NAMAN awards as it will happen in his home city.
The BCCI has already announced a ₹131 crore reward for the T20 World Cup 2026-winning team and support staff, which is the highest prize money ever given by the board to a victorious Indian side.
